Dear Classmates,
While it may seem like just a moment ago, it has been quite a number of years since we took that fateful walk to the podium to receive our diplomas.  It's hard to lie about your age once you've told someone it's your 40th high school reunion. Since graduation, we have done a lot of living. Raised 2 amazing kids; Paige, 36 (Kevin), lives in Gillette, Wy. Ri, 35 (Cassie), lives in Commerce City, Co. We now have 6 grandchildren, Kayla and Taneil twins-22, (I know you are all trying to figure that out). Sydni-8, Jax-6, Brexley-4 and Rowan-1 in Oct. We also have a great-grandson, Layton-2.
Tom and I have spent the last 26 years in the Dairy Queen business. Bought the Alliance DQ in 1990. After 12 long years, we sold that store, (2002). Packed up and headed west. Settled in Arizona. Bought the Prescott Valley store and 3 years later bought the Camp Verde store. To date, sold Prescott Valley 9 years ago and still own Camp Verde.
Sorry to say, I won't be attending the reunion. I was just in Alliance a few weeks ago. So very grateful to visit with a few of you. XOXOXO
Class Reunion
It was my class reunion, and all through the house,
I checked in each mirror and begged my poor spouse.
To say I looked great, and that my chin wasn't doubled,
So he lied through his teeth, to stay out of trouble.
Said that beneath my reading glasses, my eyes hadn't changed,
And that I had the same figure, it was just rearranged.
He said my skin was still silky, not so much like smooth satin, but more like silk crepe.
I swallowed his words hook, sinker and line,
And entered the banquet, feeling just fine.
Somehow, I expected my classmates to stay,
As young as they were on that long ago day.
We hugged lots of hugs. But like me, through the years,
They added grey to their hair or pounds to their rears.
But as we shared a few memories and retold some class jokes,
We were eighteen in spirit, though we looked like our folks.
We turned up hearing aid volumes and dimmed down the lights,
Rolled back the years, and we were young for the night . . . .
