Greetings
from Overland Park, KS. Well, things do
change over time. I remarried last year
(Cynthia) who is originally from South Sioux City, NE, and graduated from
Nebraska Wesleyan. She is a career
Spanish teacher but is now doing more substitute work and consulting for
smaller and online schools in the area.
She has two daughters, Kelly who is a junior at K-State and Lauren a
high school sophomore. So most of 2015
was spent merging two households, selling two houses and moving (for better or
worse) to a new (to us) home in the southern part of Johnson County. The summer of 2016 was spent with three
teenage girls in the house, wife and two female cats, so a lot of estrogen
flying around!
I
have now been with Lawing Financial/Qualified Plan Advisors for over ten years
focusing mainly on IRS qualified retirement plans. I have clients across the country which
requires some travel; however, technically I am self-employed so that has its
advantages/disadvantages. I do a lot of
public speaking and am very fortunate to be where I am today.
My
kiddos are well. Maggie, my oldest now
works for Hallmark here locally which is a blessing. She is married to Brian who is originally
from Omaha and they bought their first house in Prairie Village, KS about 18
months ago. No children yet, just a dog.
Nolan
is a chef in Portland, OR, after attending culinary management school in
Charleston, SC, so when he moved he didn’t fool around (one coast to the
other). Carly is a freshman at Blue
Valley West and thriving in the high school world.
Still
am tied to Husker football as a hobby and trying to fit in some travel to new
destinations. Having someone along who
speaks fluent Spanish is a plus.
