Duryea-Fisher

DURYEA, DEEANN (NASON), ALLIANCE, NE 69301
My name is Jenny (Nason) Lanik, the daughter of Roger and Dee (Duryea) Nason.  My mom gave me a generic paragraph to submit for your reunion’s booklet, but I thought it needed gussied up a bit. I decided to tell you what I thought my mom and dad have been up to since your last reunion.  That’s what happens when you leave it up to your daughter to submit your “homework.”
Two bulldog sweethearts were married in January of 1979 and added two beautiful, compassionate, intelligent (is that too many adjectives?) daughters, Jenny and Izzy to their union.  The girls both graduated from college and married amazing men, who are ironically quite a bit like their father.  Since the girls have been married, they decided that raising their children back in Alliance was important and settled into lives alongside their parents in the “Best Hometown In America.” Dee and Roger have five grandchildren who simply adore everything about them.  Dee and Roger are the kind of grandparents every little one would wish for . . . fun, loving, unable to say no, and place them in the center of their world.
Roger is in his final year of working for the BNSF Railroad and is constantly reminding his family of the countdown to his retirement.  Dee has been a successful loan officer for Western Heritage Credit Union for the last twenty years and is leery of retirement, since her vision of retirement might involve a tad more excitement than what my dad is hoping for.
In my parent’s spare time they enjoy spending time with one another, camping, hunting, fishing, following their grandchildren in their events, and riding around town in their convertible with classic rock blaring (yep, still embarrassing even when you’re 35).  Roger and Dee are great marriage role models to their daughters and are a true testament to unconditional love.
Thank you for allowing me to share a bit about my parents.  They are amazing people who have their roots deeply embedded in the community and still love Alliance and their Bulldogs as much as they did back in 1976.  I hope your reunion is a memorable event where you can share all those stories about the fun you had in high school.  Here is my phone number in case my parents get too rowdy and need a ride home: 762.2538.  ENJOY-B.U.L.L.D.O.G.S, Bulldogs, Bulldogs Are The Best!
PS-Please ask my dad about his 400-meter record because our family can’t tolerate listening to it anymore.  Plus, there is a chance it will get broken this year by a wonderful young man named Brody Brennan.  Then my dad will truly be a “has been.”  I’m not sure if he will transition well to this status, so I plead with you to indulge him in his need to be recognized.
Sincerely, Jenny  :  )

Since graduating 40 years ago, Tim and I have celebrated 35 years of marriage and had three wonderful, independent children. Since the kids have grown up, we now have a new and wonderful in-law, and great extended family.  It doesn’t get any better than this!  Planning this year’s 40th class reunion has been a blast.  Many nights on our deck, many laughs, and many friendships have rekindled since 40 years ago!  Thanks to everyone for those wonderful nights on my deck!  Love you all!
